Mike is an experienced accountant and CFO with over 20 years of expertise in accounting, finance, and tax. He holds a degree in Accounting, Finance, and Economics from the College of Staten Island. Throughout his career, Mike has played a pivotal role in helping companies build robust accounting and finance departments, contributing to their growth and profitability. He has successfully assisted businesses that were either loss-making or break-even, implementing strategies such as expense reduction, operational efficiency improvements, pricing and margin increases, renegotiating debt, and securing financing to turn them profitable.
Mike has extensive experience working with international companies entering the U.S. market. In this capacity, he has guided the incorporation process of foreign businesses in the U.S., as well as established essential back-office infrastructure, including ERP systems, bank accounts, payroll, health insurance, retirement plans, and logistics. Once these companies were set up to operate in the U.S., Mike managed their books and records, ensured compliance, and supported their expansion efforts. During this time, he also traveled frequently to Europe to strengthen business relationships and further develop operations.
Additionally, Mike has a long track record of assisting small to mid-sized businesses with tax compliance. Beyond tax preparation, he maximizes available deductions and advises clients on adjusting their procedures to align with tax laws. Mike also provides personalized assistance to individual taxpayers, offering expert guidance on matters ranging from selling homes and managing investment accounts to handling Schedule C income and more.
